Horse with a walking youth Bronze, casting, chasing, patination.

Russia, 20 century. Height 35 cm; base 23.5*16.5 cm. One of the four sculptures of the ensemble "The Taming of a Horse by Man" (Klodt PK 1841-1850) on the Anichkov Bridge. Baron Pyotr Karlovich Klodt. One of the largest Russian sculptors of the first half of the 19th century. Of Swedish origin, he grew up in a family of high-ranking officers. He was engaged in modeling and casting large statues under the direct supervision of the Russian Tsar Nicholas I. In 1838 he became the head of the Imperial Foundry (Imperial Foundry Yard). He also modeled and cast several small groups, busts and statues.
