Description

Silver, partially gilded. Above an exhibited round stand, a tall, conical body. The lower half of the wall is adorned with relief-plastically driven lancet leaves. Below the rim, finely engraved strapwork over a punched ground. Gilded on the inside. Designed, tremolo stroke, assay mark, master Johann Gottfried Horn the Elder (became a master in 1714). Weight approximately 95 g. Height 9.5 cm. Compare Hintze, Schlesien, p. 151, type VI and p. 152. A Silesian Baroque parcel-gilt silver beaker by Johann Gottfried Horn the Elder (master since 1714). Gilt inside. Tested, assayed, and master's mark. Schlesien, Ohlau. Around 1730.
