Delicate hand-painted porcelain in the spirit of Romanticism and Rococo. Inscription: H.A. Jung No. 5 1835, on the back of the plaque. Dimensions of the plaque: 9.5 x 7.5 cm.
Georges Charles Dantès (February 5, 1812 — November 2, 1895) was a French officer of the Life Guards, a monarchist, and a Catholic by faith.
In the 1830s, he served in Russia in the Life Guards Cavalry Regiment. He was the adopted son of the Dutch diplomat Louis Gekkerna.
He was married to Ekaterina Nikolayevna Goncharova (the elder sister of N. N. Pushkina).
He is known as the man who fatally wounded A. S. Pushkin in a duel. After the duel, he was stripped of his rank and exiled from Russia.
